IBEX 2020 Transitions to Virtual Event

IBEX 2020, the International Boatbuilders Exhibition & Conference, will transition to a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The live show was to have been held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Tampa, Florida. The virtual show will be Sept. 29, according to show director Anne Dunbar.

IBEX is providing information for attendees about the change at its FAQ page. Other information about the show is still on the IBEX site.

Here is the email sent July 9 by IBEX about the change:

IBEX 2020 will transition to a virtual event, allowing the entire marine industry to come together in a new way as an online community. The health and safety of our visitors, exhibitors, and partners is our primary concern, and gathering in-person in Tampa, FL is not the right decision due to COVID-19. You will still be able to connect virtually with all the experts and product manufacturers at the new IBEX online event. IBEX is known for forward-thinking education and allowing buyers and manufactures to meet and do business, and we will offer you the same kind of education and interaction in an online format.

What makes IBEX so important is connection. Connecting our industry. Connecting buyers with product manufacturers. Connecting ideas and innovations to develop better boats.

With the barriers of travel, budget constraints, and a changing office environment removed this is a unique opportunity to attend from a distance, and a great opportunity to share the IBEX experience with your co-workers and teams who don't typically attend — particularly emerging professionals or those new to the marine industry.

The details for IBEX Online: A Virtual Experience are still in development, but you will get the value you expect out of your participation.

Although it has been a difficult decision to make, we are confident we can bring the industry together virtually to share ideas, do business, and move the industry forward. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, or visit our COVID-19 FAQ page. We will be in touch as soon we have another update to share and more information regarding the new IBEX Virtual Experience.
