Third Generation of Perkins Family to Lead Orvis

Orvis, the family-owned international outdoor retailer, has appointed a third member of the Perkins family to lead the company.

Simon Perkins assumes full strategic and operational leadership of Orvis as President. Outgoing President and CEO Bill McLaughlin, who has worked closely with Perkins on the executive team, will act as an advisor through the transition period.

Since joining the company in 2012, he has served as a unifying leader across categories and acted as a leading voice in the evolution of product innovation, brand storytelling and purpose-led business initiatives.

Perkins is the son of Leigh ‘Perk’ Perkins, former Orvis CEO, and grandson of Leigh H. Perkins, who purchased the Orvis Company in 1965.

In addition to the appointment of Perkins, the Board of Directors recently named Hansen as Chair and Roger Farah Vice Chair and special advisor to the President.

 

Boat Buying Frenzy Across U.S.

From all over the country, we are now getting reports that a boat buying frenzy is playing out at many dealerships. From runabouts and center consoles to large express and flybridge cruisers and motor yachts, boats are selling at a fast pace, and many dealers are running out of inventory. Builders of large boats in the $1 to $2 million range report that nationwide inventory is often in single digits, and in some cases only a couple of boats are available for immediate delivery. One financial institution is saying its boat loan business is up 31%. BoatTEST has seen a huge spike in boat research on its website, something echoed by virtually all major online classified services.

  

Clean Drain Dry Initiative Unveils New Tools to Fight Invasive Species

Wildlife Forever’s Clean Drain Dry Initiative has developed new and innovative products to help stop the spread of invasive species.

St. Croix Rods Virtual Customer Appreciation Days, June 18-20, 2020

The St. Croix Rod Customer Appreciation Day is fast approaching, bringing one-of-a-kind opportunities, unique product discounts, seminars and more.
